Carriage House Clinic
The Carriage House Clinic located behind the Clubhouse offers convenient psychiatric and primary care services for Clubhouse members. The doctor and nurse are available on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The hours will be expanded as the need for the service increases.
We provide these services to ensure our members’ full healthcare needs are met. Many people who live with mental illness do not get the healthcare and preventive care they need. The Carriage House Clinic improves access and integration of all healthcare services. This allows members to be more empowered in improving their health. The strength of the Clubhouse community is as a resource to promote healthy living and advocacy to improve consistent and informed healthcare. We work to ensure our members enjoy better health and live longer and more satisfying lives.
The Carriage House Clinic makes it easier for members to receive care from medical professionals who are part of the Clubhouse community and culture and who share our values and processes.
The Clubhouse will support you and improve the partnership you have with our doctor and nurse, Dr. Patrick Runnels and Kelly Scott, R.N. Dr. Runnels is on the staff at University Hospitals Case Medical Center.
Dr. Runnels attended medical school at the University of Missouri, Columbia, completing general psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and the Public Psychiatry Fellowship at Columbia University. Additionally, he completed international administrative and clinical work in Belize, and worked within the extensive New York City mental health system. After moving to Cleveland in 2008, he joined the faculty in Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals medical system.
